"Short Distance Runners" is Helluvah's
latest release, the first one out on Dead Bees records (Nov. 3rd
2014).
After "Emotion Pills"
(2008) & "As We Move Silently" (2011) this new material
will bring evidence of Helluvah's taste for crunchy
guitars mixed with electronic beats.
This record has been produced
by long time collaborator BobX and features guests such Marc Huyghens
(of Joy fame) and Melissa Laveaux.
The band performs sensitive songs, led by three
voices answering and interweaving with each other. This is indie
rock of the melancholic and rough sort, going from a clear line
to stronger, noisier flavors. But the music always displays the
same emotions.
Unemotional is My Imaginary Loves debut release
- recorded during the summer of 2012, it is a collection of 6 troubled
rock songs; a sound which is never far from breaking point and discord,
reminding of Blonde Redhead’s and Sonic Youth’s early
albums.

compilation process started the day we released #10 and ended just
a few hours ago. This is a very large sampler, we never had 21 tracks
before: #11 gathers our largest collection of previously unreleased

If Call Me Loretta’s
previous album," Crosswind", conveyed
the impression that the band was eager to leave far away and stay
aside, their new album, entitled "Mountains
and Rivers Between Us", seems to be guided by distance
and geographical separation. An appealing melancholy emanates from
its songs which alternate between tense crescendos, delicate arpeggios
and desperate distortions, all in all disclosing a feeling of repressed
violence.
Si « Crosswind», le précédent

Over the past 5 years SKY
PARADE have covered a lot of ground. Headed by Tommy
Dietrick (ex Brian Jonestown
Massacre / Smallstone), SKY
PARADE have released 3 albums and 3 EPs and shared
stages with the likes of BRMC, The Dandy
Warhols, Frank Black, The Black Angels
& James to name a few.
In 2009, Tommy and Joel recorded and performed alongside Robby
Krieger of legendary band, The Doors,
in a side project titled, Treehouse. SKY
PARADE's latest LP release, "Intoxicated"
(2010), is being hailed as the bands best effort to date. The album's
1st single was produced by Courtney Taylor of The Dandy
Warhols and features the Dandy Warhols’ own Zia
McCabe on keyboards.
The album also features guest appearances by Smashing Pumpkins
guitarist, Jeff Schroeder, and Dizzy
Reed of Guns and Roses. In August, Intoxicated debuted
Top 10 on the Independent Specialty Charts (FMQB/KKBB) in both the
album and singles categories.
The band continue to build on its worldwide cult following and
are scheduled to return to the UK and Europe in the Fall with a
handful of dates in the USA before heading out.
Le groupe psyché-pop londonien The Chemistry Set
n'est pas né d'hier. Les premières productions de
ces vétérans de la scène psychédélique
anglaise fin 80ies ont été remarquées par
John Peel qui le sa plusieurs fois programmées (Peel
est même allé jusqu'à rédiger une lettre
manuscrite pour signifier au groupe son admiration), régulièrement
chroniquées dans la presse musicale overground, et enfin
entrées dans les charts indie.
Le groupe est resté silencieux pendant un long hiatus...
jusqu'à ce que Paul Lake et Dave Mclean ne réveillent
magistralement en 2008. Un retour qui coïncida
avec l'apparition de leur album inédit "Sounds
Like Painting" (1989) sur de nombreux blogs MP3, et
cumulant plus de 10,000 téléchargement !
En 2009 Lake et Mclean (épaulés par
quelques complices musiciens) on repris le chemin des studios pour
enregistrer le mini album "Alchemy#101"
sur un île au milieu de la Tamise, en n'utilisant que des
instruments vintage, mais enregistrant sur "pro-tools"
- mixant sons vintage et modernes. Le mixage a été
amoureusement fignolé durant trois mois avec le producteur
indie espagnol Manel Ibáñez.

London Psychedelic-Pop band The Chemistry Set have
quite a history. Veterans of the late 80s neo-psychedelic boom,
their music received regular airplay on John Peel's
show (Peel went so far as to sending the band a hand-written fan
letter), featured in the mainstream and underground music press,
indie top 20 and toured worldwide. The band appeared on the late,
legendary Tony Wilson's television show, who was
a huge fan of the band.
They took a bit of a hiatus, remaining silent … until Paul
Lake and Dave Mclean remarkably reappeared in 2008.
Their return came about when their unreleased LP from 1989 "Sounds
Like Painting" was uploaded onto various blogs and
was downloaded over 10,000 times!
In 2009 Lake and Mclean (along with a little help
from some musical friends) returned to the laboratory and recorded
the mini album "Alchemy#101" in a studio
on an island in the middle of the River Thames, using vintage instruments
but recorded it to "pro-tools" to get a great mix of vintage
and modern sounds. It was then lovingly mixed and produced over
3 months by the Spanish indie producer Manel Ibáñez.
Long time friends and occasional flatmates, Elsa and Joel started
playing these songs a long while back. Couch potatoes slow sad folk
is their middle name.

mastered by Dan Coutant at West West Side Music, New York.

(Boston/New York) are finally releasing "The Silver Album"
- a 13 tracks trip into noisy psychedelic drone.
This album pretends to mix high energy
rock'n'roll and excessive low frequencies loudness for the instant
pleasure of your eardrums. lyrics are about sex, witchcraft, my
friend the Devil that makes me look glad, low ridin', maximum level
sound pressure...
We've been paying attention to Cobson's
work for a while now. After attending one of its latest gigs we
could not do anything but realize that this Montpellier-based band
has turned into a genuine rough diamond, worth being exposed to
the ears of the world.
The new "Bike EP", follow-up to
the previous s/t EP, is now available.
